Getting started

mnemoptic is 100% web — there is nothing to install. Create your account at checkout (or from the app's sign-up tab), and you land in a short onboarding: shop name, country, language, currency. Your country pre-fills sensible defaults like currency, VAT behaviour and calendar.

  • Start with example data — tick the option during onboarding to explore with a realistic sample shop. Remove it anytime from Settings → Data & backup.
  • The guided tour — after onboarding, five quick coach marks point out Home, Clients, Frames, Finance and Settings.
  • Try before you buy — the live demo opens the real app with sample data, no account needed.
  • Install as an app — click the install icon in your browser's address bar to get a dock icon and a standalone window (PWA).
02

Daily sales

Two ways to record a sale. Quick Sale (on Home) is the point-of-sale path: pick or create the client, add the frame, apply a coupon or a payment mode, done — loyalty points are earned automatically. The client purchase path (from a client's record) captures the full job: frame, lenses, prescription per item, and price.

  • Order stages — every purchase can move through pending → sent for fitting → received → ready → delivered, with courier and tracking fields. Follow open jobs from Finance → Orders.
  • Coupons & payment modes — define percent or fixed-amount coupons and your accepted payment methods in Finance and Settings.
  • Printing — invoices, order forms, barcode labels, member cards and prescription cards all print from the app; label/paper size is configurable.
03

Clients & prescriptions

A client's page is their whole story: contact details, insurance, category (VIP, etc.), loyalty points, store credit, wearing parameters, every purchase and every prescription.

  • Prescriptions — keep up to four RX versions per client (before / after / manual / final) and print a wallet-size RX card.
  • Messaging — one click opens WhatsApp, SMS or email with the client's number pre-filled; clients marked "do not disturb" are excluded from campaigns.
  • Feedback & referrals — request a rating by WhatsApp after delivery, and track who referred whom.
  • Excel import — bring an existing client list in from a spreadsheet (Settings → Import).
04

Inventory

Frames and lenses are tracked separately. Frames carry brand, category, buy/sell price, quantity and a low-stock threshold; lenses carry type, supplier and cost, with optional range-based pricing (price by prescription strength).

  • Stock movements — every sale and manual adjustment is logged; open any item's history from the Frames toolbar.
  • Inventory audit — count the shelf, enter physical quantities, and the app adjusts and logs the differences.
  • Low-stock alerts — items at or under their threshold surface on Home.
  • Barcodes — print scannable labels for any item.
05

Agenda & reminders

  • Appointments — eye exams, fittings and pick-ups, grouped Today / Upcoming / Past; today's list also shows on Home.
  • Renewal reminders — clients whose last purchase is over 12 months old (or who never bought) appear in Reminders, ready for a WhatsApp nudge.
  • Birthday greetings — today's birthdays with a one-click personalised message.
06

Finance

The Finance tab is your month at a glance: revenue, expenses and net, plus the tools around them.

  • Expenses — rent, salaries, restocks; supplier purchases log themselves as expenses automatically.
  • Suppliers — track payables per supplier: purchases increase the balance, payments reduce it.
  • Documents — daily cash statement, bulk B2B invoices, and monthly reports with CSV export.
  • Statistics — the Statistics tab charts revenue, top frames and client activity over time.
07

Multi-store & team

Every plan is the full app; plans differ by how many stores you can run — Solo 1, Pro 2, Enterprise unlimited. Each store keeps its own clients, stock and finances, and you switch stores from the header.

  • Staff & view modes — keep a staff list, and switch the app between admin, staff and read-only investor views; read-only hides the editing controls, which is useful when you hand someone a tablet. These are display modes on the device, not security roles — anyone using that device can switch back — so treat them as convenience, not as a way to keep costs and margins from your staff. Per-user logins are on the roadmap.
  • Branding — your logo and brand colour appear across the app and on printed documents (Pro and up).
08

Your data & backups

mnemoptic is local-first: your shop's data lives in your browser, so the app is fast and keeps working offline. When you're signed in, every change also syncs to your encrypted cloud account — sign in on a new computer and your shop is there.

  • Export backup — Settings → Data & backup downloads a single file containing every client, sale, inventory item and setting on the device.
  • Import backup — restores that file onto any device (and pushes it to your cloud account if signed in).
  • Remove example data — strips the sample records while keeping everything you created.
Tip: export a backup before big changes (like a bulk import), and keep a copy somewhere safe. It's your data — you can always take it with you.
09

Languages & regional settings

  • Languages — English, French, Arabic (full right-to-left) and Spanish for the app UI; invoices print bilingually.
  • Taxes — VAT (inclusive or exclusive) with your registration number, ZATCA-compliant QR e-invoices for Saudi Arabia, and US state sales tax.
  • Calendars & currency — Gregorian, Hijri or both; 16 currencies.
  • Insurance — track carrier claims per purchase; eligibility checks are available for supported markets.
